Thanks for visiting my site. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Michael Boyle and I am an animator/rigger working in the game industry. My educational background is fine arts having graduated with a BFA from James Madison University. Degree in hand and wanting to see some of the world I traveled to Europe where I lived, studied and worked for 5 years. After 1 year in Siena, Italy and 4 in Bratislava, Slovakia I returned to the States and enrolled in a 9 month computer art and animation course at the School of Communication Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina. I have worked in the game industry ever since.
I have worked in the game industry for over 10 years now. Starting out as a generalist my duties included a little bit of everything including interface design, concept, modeling, texturing, rigging and animation. Having had the opportunity to work on many aspects of game art creation has given me a great appreciation for the many talents that come together to make a game. As the game industry has matured, artists have specialized more and more. My specialty (and passion) is animation and rigging. To improve as an animator I have completed the intensive 18 month Animation Mentor program. Animation Mentor was one of the most worthwhile things I have ever done. Thanks again for visiting my site and please check out my demo reel under the animation tab! |
